A developmental edit provides feedback to help writers turn an early draft into a well structured, captivating narrative. The editor conducts a line-by-line reading with two main emphases. (1) Paragraph-level edits focus on the clarity and function of each paragraph. (2) Chapter-level edits address scope, structure, and/or the flow of information.

3 cents/word (total word count * .03)
A line-by-line edit has two main goals. (1) Sentence-level editing to refine grammar, word choice, and tone. (2) Paragraph-level editing to address narrative progression. This includes considerations of clarity, consistency, and/or effective transition.
Which parts of the story shine? Which could still be refined? Your editor will include a memo with feedback about overarching strategies for revision.
